RACHEL & TRAVIS :: ASHLEY INN WEDDING

I met Rachel over a year ago when she came to the Simply Love Studio's Bridal Benchmark. Side Note: Bridal Benchmark is an awesome 6 week series of classes for brides on everything you need to know to plan your wedding. Anyways, I pretty much knew from the first time we talked that I wanted to shoot her wedding simply because she was so laid back and sweet. I have had such an amazing time getting to know her, Travis and their little one over the past year. Quite possibly some of the kindest people Ive ever met and I feel absolutely honoured to have been able to photograph their day.

If you know Kentucky weather, you know it has rained just about every Saturday, which makes my job all sorts of interesting. I sent Rachel a text that morning to say I was super excited to celebrate with them. Her reply back was simply that she was really excited too. No mention of the weather or the downpour that was happening outside. I absolutely love that rain or shine she was having a great day! 

Thankfully the rains cleared up just before their first look and by the end of the ceremony the sun had come out. Rachel & Travis, I can not thank you enough for letting me be a part of your day.

How I love all the yellow flowers against the navy bridesmaids dresses and table covers. And the rustic feel of the little jars and natural wood trivets.

I, as always, forgot to grab a slice of cake. But I heard Rachel, owner of She Bakes Cakes knocked it out of the park with her 5 tier lemon and vanilla cake with handmade sugar flowers.

And last but not least a huge thank you to Jaron Johns, Dei Gratia Photography, for shooting this wedding with me. He did an amazing job throughout the day and credit for many of the detail shots and the guys getting ready goes to him.
